Installing AlternaTIFF for Netscape

After you have downloaded the AlternaTIFF plug-in from the AlternaTIFF website, you can install it on your PC.

To install the AlternaTIFF plug-in:

1. If the Winzip Self-Extractor message box is not displayed, go to the directory in which you downloaded the file then double-click on . (The version number may have changed to a later version since this help was written.)
   
   The Winzip Self-Extractor message box is displayed.

2. Click on  to begin installing AlternaTIFF.
   
   The AlternaTIFF plug-in registration window is displayed.

4. Select either automatic or manual registration and register the plug-in.
   
   When you have completed the registration, the AlternaTIFF setup window is displayed.

5. A directory is displayed in the Install into Netscape at: box.
   
   If you want to install the AlternaTIFF plug-in in a different directory, click on  to display the Browse for Folder window. Select the location you require then click on  to return to the AlternaTIFF Setup window.
   
   Click on .
   
   The AlternaTIFF Installation message box is displayed to inform you that the installation is complete.

6. Click on .
   
   AlternaTIFF is installed and will be started automatically whenever you open a TIFF file.
